A recently released survey from e-learning consultancy Kineo (Rapid E-learning Authoring Tools) shows that Atlantic Link Limited are the only European company making significant progress in an industry dominated by US vendors.

The survey measures the products that are most widely used by respondents, the factors which are important in their purchase and some of the key issues surrounding use of rapid authoring tools. Atlantic Link are the only European company that achieves a significant share of usage in the survey, and shows itself to be one of the leading products specifically designed for rapid e-learning authoring, as opposed to more generic software such as MS Powerpoint which is shoe-horned into an authoring role.

Commenting on the survey, Atlantic Link's Managing Director, Mike Alcock stated "These figures show how far we've come in a short space of time, and that the market is ready to look outside of the US for new technology that speeds up and eases the authoring process. Our software is only 2 years old, so to achieve this level of market penetration in such a short timescale is very exciting. When you look at the survey results and focus on the factors that influence rapid authoring purchases, you can see why we are being so successful. When we designed our products, we tried to address all of the traditional e-learning headaches. The success of our software is due to the fact that the main concerns of e-learning authors, identified in the survey, are the same ones that we addressed in the design of our products. Specifically, the survey highlights:

- Ease of use
- Ability to incorporate existing content
- Ability to incorporate graphics and media
- Ability to publish SCORM/AICC compliant courses
- Ability for multiple users to work simultaneously

This list was central to the design blueprint for Atlantic Link's products and we see the survey’s findings as confirmation that our software closely meets the market’s needs"
